Arranging A Home Visit

We will arrange to meet you and your family at your family home to get to know you better and provide you with a chance to ask us questions. Alternatively, we could arrange an online video chat via Zoom or WhatsApp -  other video  chat functions are available.

• At our visit, an experienced member of our team will discuss your aspirations to become a foster carer. You’ll be given more information about fostering and we’ll discuss the reasons why foster carers are needed and how it makes a difference to children in care.
• During the visit we’ll also assess your home and outside space to understand how any child/ children would benefit from living with you.
• You’ll also be asked to tell us more about your immediate family and who lives with you in your home, which will help us to start preparing for your application and assessment process.

We encourage you to ask as many questions as you want to and need to, so you can get an understanding of the role of a foster carer and the impact this could have on your life and the lives of your friends and wider family.
