Capstone Foster Care News

It’s wonderful to hear stories of generosity and kindness from our foster families but the kindness shown by these incredible children from one of our Barnsley foster families really warms your heart and should inspire us all to do our bit for those less fortunate than ourselves.
Every month, with their carers/parents, these children get to choose one gift each that they think other children would like to be given at Christmas. Then in December when they both have 12 gifts each, they donate them to the Hallam FM Cash for Kids Mission Christmas campaign.
It’s a wonderful idea and a fantastic lesson for these young children. Merry Christmas to you all!

On the 15th December, staff, carers, looked after children and young people all came together from our Barnsley office and celebrated at their Christmas party and enjoyed all the festive fun, activities and food! All the children took it in turns to visit Santa in his grotto and received a present each. The day was fun packed with activities such as making Christmas crafts, handmade cards and tree decorations to give to their loved ones. The staff even made a Christmas photo booth and helped the children decorate cupcakes.

The day ended with a buffet, Christmas treats and a DJ and some of our young people joined in with the karaoke as well! It really is a joy to see staff, carers and children all come together and celebrate as a big family.

Thank you to everyone who came along and we’d like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

This year Capstone South East have gone the extra mile to spread joy and happiness to those in need the most at Christmas. On 30th November, our London team donated their ‘Secret Santa’ fund, to purchase and deliver gifts to a local Samaritan’s Shop in Harrow. As a fostering agency, we are fully aware of the increasing need for mental health services, so in recognition of this, they decided to support the longstanding charity who supports these services for children and adults. The trustee Judith said ‘Thank you once again and please pass on our thanks to all your team’!

In addition, on Tuesday 18th December, the staff from our Dartford office delivered over 70 presents to Demelza House, a local children’s hospice. From staff donations we were able to purchase toys, games, crafts and stocking fillers for the children to enjoy this Christmas.

Demelza’s vision is to make life better for children and young people who have serious or terminal conditions. It is an organisation that provides support not only to the children but also to the families who love them. We are proud to support such an amazing organisation and want to wish you all a lovely Christmas!

Well done to both our London and Dartford teams who have shown fantastic kindness and generosity!
