On a very wet Monday this February half term, a group of four carers and six children/young people enjoyed a game of bowling at Tenpin, Acton. The lights were dimmed, the music started and the bowling competition began! It was great to see the children, young people and carers competing against each other and it was definitely a lot of fun, with a competitive edge! We finished the activity with lunch in the café, where everyone tucked into a meal and drink and talked about the fun they had and compared scores.

It’s always lovely to see the joy on our children’s and young people’s faces at get togethers like this and we always love to hear their feedback. Here is some from the children and young people we spoke to:

“I enjoyed just about everything, bowling and making friends”,
“I have made a new friend and enjoyed the company of others that are my age”
“I enjoyed the bowling and food”

On Saturday 22nd December, we held our Festive Party for our London office with a wonderful attendance from our CEO Richard, members of staff, foster carers, looked after children, birth children and even some of the foster carer’s grandchildren!

It was a fantastic afternoon which was action packed with a lovely lunch and entertainment from a magician and some of our staff members and looked after children, before a visit from Santa who presented all of the children in attendance with some lovely gifts and vouchers. The party ended with lots of music and dancing and everyone seemed to be having a great time!

Thank you to everyone who attended the party and we look forward to seeing you all in the near future. Wishing you all a very happy and healthy 2019!

This year Capstone South East have gone the extra mile to spread joy and happiness to those in need the most at Christmas. On 30th November, our London team donated their ‘Secret Santa’ fund, to purchase and deliver gifts to a local Samaritan’s Shop in Harrow. As a fostering agency, we are fully aware of the increasing need for mental health services, so in recognition of this, they decided to support the longstanding charity who supports these services for children and adults. The trustee Judith said ‘Thank you once again and please pass on our thanks to all your team’!

In addition, on Tuesday 18th December, the staff from our Dartford office delivered over 70 presents to Demelza House, a local children’s hospice. From staff donations we were able to purchase toys, games, crafts and stocking fillers for the children to enjoy this Christmas.

Demelza’s vision is to make life better for children and young people who have serious or terminal conditions. It is an organisation that provides support not only to the children but also to the families who love them. We are proud to support such an amazing organisation and want to wish you all a lovely Christmas!

Well done to both our London and Dartford teams who have shown fantastic kindness and generosity!
