Easter trip to Crealy Adventure Park
Staff, carers and young people from Capstone teams in Devon and Cornwall recently visited Crealy Adventure Park just outside Exeter. It was a beautiful sunny day and after a very brief moment of shyness the group of young people were soon charging together from ride to ride and fearlessly enjoying the rides and slides within the park. Staff and carers made the most of sunshine and got some well-earned down time to chat together. One carer said it was lovely to see the young people spending time together and making the most of their day out in each other’s company.
Everyone had a fantastic time and it was heart-warming to see one of young people we support, who is usually more reserved, going on rides and mingling with new people she hadn’t met before. This was a real achievement and was much to our surprise and delight!
Elaine Leitch, Regional Director said: “We organise days out for fostering families and children throughout the year as it’s important to support carers to have a sense of community with one another. The day out to Crealy Adventure Park was a great success – the sun was shining and everyone had a great day. We look forward to seeing carers and their families at upcoming events across the region. Our next event in this area is the trip to Exmoor Zoo in the summer!”Back to news
