Transferring to Capstone Foster Care
Capstone Foster Care is seeking foster carers in the North West. If you are already a foster carer and interested in transferring from your current agency or authority, Capstone is interested in talking to you.
When a foster carer wishes to transfer to another fostering service, there are protocols in place to assure that the welfare of children and young people in care continues to be the primary focus. Their permanence plan must be protected from unplanned endings.
If you are thinking of transferring and have considered and discussed the protocols, you might wish to consider a move to Capstone Foster Care. Capstone has many characteristics that make such a move worthwhile thinking about.
It is a small agency with a wide range of expertise. This creates a responsive family feel and yet, the full range of professional support compares with a larger agency. This brings the best of both worlds to the fostering experience.
If you have worked with an agency that expanded without maintaining the intimacy of a small family-type network, you might have felt that your participation was insignificant. At Capstone, we are all aware of the challenging work and strive to demonstrate our appreciation of all our carers. They are treasures and we know it.
Agencies can grow and change and what initially attracted you to join your agency may have changed. Growth and change should enhance an agency’s values, not change them. Capstone’s growth is not about size but about resources and we have built and continue to expand our resources. Our children and young people feel safe and protected.

Capstone Foster Care is actively making an effort to expand our family of foster carers so that we can have enough carers to match their skills with children and young people who need the support that those skills can provide. The benefit of being a team is that we are always aware of the strengths and abilities of each and every foster carer in our network.
Ofsted confirms our perception that we are successful. Ofsted’s recent inspections across our group rate us highly. We also have an excellent reputation with local authorities.
We are a small and committed fostering agency. This means that we are able to act as an extended family for our placed children and young people. If a child in care needs extra help – from educational support to counselling or health assessment – our workers are there 24/7.
Capstone also knows that everyone needs a break from time to time. To this end, we will provide you with up to 2 weeks paid break a year. People need the support of their peers. When you join our team, we have a buddy system as well as support groups. We have social events where you can get out and enjoy the camaraderie of other foster carers.
If you want to know more about transferring to our small, friendly team, please call us today on 01706 623540.
