What is fostering?
Fostering is looking after a child or children who cannot live with their own family, it may be for just one night or it may be that they cannot return home for the foreseeable future.
There are lots of reasons why children need foster care, it may be because their parents are ill, or having problems which means they are unable to prioritise their own child’s needs. Some of the children may have been abused or been neglected.
Fostering offers children somewhere safe and supportive to stay whilst their own family try to sort out their problems.
Fostering is very rewarding, but it is hard work and the children placed in Foster Care need carers who are patient, caring, tolerant and flexible, but most of all you will need lots of energy and enthusiasm.
