Capstone Care Leavers Trust (CCLT) is our charitable arm and another example of what makes our organisation truly unique – we don’t stop supporting young people at 18.
CCLT awards grants to young people aged between 17 – 25 in England and Wales, who are care experienced and in need. The Trust can provide grants for all manner of things to support them in independence from the purchase of white goods to help turn their house into a home, to supporting driving lessons so that they may further their employment opportunities. The Trust, however, has a particular passion for supporting care experienced young people to achieve their full potential by funding their further educational dreams.
Many care experienced young people simply do not have the means and family support to consider further education without these types of grants. The Trust is proud to have funded university tuition fees, masters degrees, equipment such as laptops and research material. It’s even funded a super yacht cadetship in the past!
While the Trust is open for applications from the public at intervals throughout the year, those within our organisation can apply at any time.
Care doesn’t end at eighteen and we’re proud to support care experienced young people as they move into adulthood.
“My life completely changed after having done this course and entering this industry. I’m so grateful to the Trust.” – Dan, awarded grant for super yacht cadetship
“The support from Capstone Care Leavers Trust has made such a difference to me.” – Zaynab, awarded grant for university tuition fees for degree in Human Neuroscience at Birmingham University.
“Zoe from Capstone Care Leavers Trust was excited about my aspirations and supported me one hundred percent. The Trust award isn’t just about funds, but also about giving a young person confidence.” – Gemma, awarded grant for laptop and clothes for her study placement as a barrister in training.
