Proud to be an Employee Ownership Trust

Our Trust status allows us to invest more in our foster carers, social workers and therapeutic support, meaning a highly engaged and passionate team who hold our children and young people at the very heart of what we do.

What does this look like for foster carers?

Support, support and more support!

Did we mention support is vital for thriving foster carers? From a dedicated Supervising Social Worker with a low caseload to ensure they have the time to give you all the support you need, to children’s champions and support workers,  local get togethers and support groups, specialist training, support for your own children, our wellbeing specialists, excellent carer allowances, the list goes on.

Quality, specialist learning and development from the start. Not just when you start. Learning and development will continue throughout your fostering journey, including PACE for all foster carers and DDP for all social workers. Don’t worry if that doesn’t mean much to you now – we’ll be there to guide you every step of the way.

A great thing about our Trust status is that it allows much open engagement amongst the team – if there’s specific training you need to meet a child’s needs, we have that flexibility to cater to your family’s situation.

Plus, you have the assurance of knowing that you have an incredibly knowledgeable, experienced and well-trained team around you at the same time.

Access to our unique therapeutic service: MATTS.

MATTS stands for Multi-disciplinary Assessment, Treatment and Therapy Service.

In a nutshell, it’s a specialist therapeutic service which is unique to our organisation. We recognised that there was a growing need for therapeutic services for children at a point of need. You may have heard of CAMHS before? We provide our own mental health services from a team of qualified specialists meaning our young people get the support they need, when they need it, but without any of the huge waiting lists.

‘Foster carers recognise the transformative effect the agency’s research-based specialist therapeutic service has on the children they care for.’ Ofsted

This has led to improved stability within the fostering home. As you’ve probably guessed – stability is vital to children in care. Plus, our foster carers feel better supported themselves with the aid of the MATTS clinicians – it’s win, win and you won’t find it anywhere else!

A focus on wellbeing. The open, friendly, supportive dialogue that runs throughout the Trust ensures a genuine family feel, guided by our values.

We’re also able to invest in services which increases our team’s wellbeing. Most recently we introduced HumanOS across the entire organisation, prioritising mental and physical wellness for all.

Brighter futures for care experienced young people is our focus, we strive every day to be the best and to constantly improve. For us, this also includes those young people who are journeying into adulthood. Through our charitable arm, Capstone Care Leavers Trust, we’re able to continue to support those who’ve been in care to achieve their full potential.
