Who are FosterTalk?

FosterTalk is an organisation that provides support to foster carers to ensure they feel safeguarded in their role. Offering round-the-clock help and training, the organisation has the needs of the children and young people at its heart. It is run by a team of social workers, foster carers and other sector experts who can offer support in several areas including, legal, tax and finance, as well as multi-disciplinary care needs.

Benefits of FosterTalk

As a carer with Capstone, you’ll access a number of unique benefits with your FosterTalk membership, including:

  • Fostering and SGO Helpline: An email and telephone helpline that offers impartial advice from qualified social workers.
  • Legal helpline: Free legal support and advice 24 hours a day from qualified lawyers for your entire fostering household.   
  • Counselling Service: 24-hour access to confidential counselling from clinically trained and qualified experts.
  • Insurance Brokers: Access to insurance brokers who can provide tailored quotes for your foster family, across car insurance, business insurance and home insurance.  
  • Legal Insurance: Legal insurance against the event of an allegation arising as a result of your role as a foster carer.
  • Tax and National Insurance advice: While most of a foster carer's income is tax-free, if you earn over the tax threshold and need help or advice, FosterTalk provides advice from tax experts.
  • Medical Helpline: FosterTalk offers members access to a 24-hour medical helpline where you can discuss medical advice on a range of health-related topics, such as vaccinations and symptoms.
  • Members Magazine: Members receive a magazine every quarter packed full of real-life stories and information to help them stay up to date with the world of foster care.

How to get a FosterTalk membership with Capstone Foster Care?

As a foster carer with Capstone Foster Care, you don’t need to do anything to activate your FosterTalk membership, we’ve got it covered. You’ll receive your membership details when you join or transfer to us.
